Reproducible positioning due to kinematic snap in mechanism
Flag style sample plates are commonly used in many home built and commercial UHV surface science instruments and scanning probe microscopes. The standard holders have the disadvantage of non-reproducible positioning when placed into their receptors. In order to overcome this problem, we have introduced three slits in the sample plate, while keeping the outline dimensions and compatibility with existing transfer systems and receptors. If placed into the corresponding RECOMEC13 receptor which features three ruby spheres, our modified SHOM snaps in reproducibly with a precision in the micrometer range.
Up to 13 electrical high quality spring contacts for wiring up devices
The SHOMEC13 features a total of thirteen high quality spring contacts mounted into an AlN-isolator. The shape and opening of the top plate and shield cover can be customized to your needs.
Pocket underneath the sample mounting plate allows convenient installation of temperature sensor
A slit in the cearmic base plate allows for the mounting of a DT-670 silicon diode temperature sensor, a thermocouple or Pt100 resistor.
To illustrate a possible application, the image above shows an example of an SOIC-08 surface mount socket.
Base plate and shield cap are available in:
- Copper-Beryllium (CuBe2)
- Stainless steel 1.4301
Ceramic isolator base plate and sample mounting plate:
- Shapal M - machinable aluminium nitride ceramics
Standard shield cap window sizes:
- Square 3x3mm, 4x4mm, 4.5x4.5mm, 5x5mm, 6x6mm
