Motorized Linear and Rotary Drive for MD40 Feedthrough


The DRVMDMOTLR is a stepper motor-driven linear and rotary actuator. It's high precision motorized spindle drive is coupled to the outer magnet and controls linear motion. With a 2mm pitched spindle, minimal steps of 0.01mm are possible. Alternatively, a 1mm pitched spindle provides even higher resolution.

Rotation of the shaft is activated via gear wheels that transfer motion from a second stepper motor.
The sturdy linear unit ensures unchanging alignment of all components and consistent positioning.

A Nanotec ST2018L0804 2-phase stepper motor drives the linear axis and a second stepper motor with gearbox drives the rotary axis.

MD40 linear/rotary feedthroughs can be equipped with this option.

Please note that for bakeout the drive must be removed.


  • XXXX = Length of the whole drive (Linear travel of MD40 + 226mm). If you have a MD40-0200-0030, you need a DRVMDMOTLR-0426 (200mm+226mm)
